Degree programmes
The EvH RWL offers seven Bachelor's degree programmes (BA) and two Master's degree programmes (MA) for professions in the social, health and education sectors.

Language
All degree programmes are taught in German. The EvH RWL does not offer any degree programmes in English.
However, each summer semester some seminars are offered in English.

Admission Requirements
In order to study at EvH RWL, you need

  1. a higher education entrance qualification, i.e. a school or university degree certificate that allows you to study at a German university.
  2. advanced German language skills at C1 level
  3. For most BA programmes: a pre-study internship
    For BA degree programmes in nursing: a completed vocational training
    For MA programmes: a Bachelor's degree in a closely related subject

German language skills
When applying, you must provide proof of German language skills at C1 level (C1 level according to CEFR https://www.coe.int/en/web/language-policy/cefr).

The following language tests, for example, are recognized for this purpose: DSH-2, TestDaF (4 points in all four test areas), telc C1 Hochschule, Goethe-Zertifikat C1.

Do you have another language certificate? Please contact us so that we can check whether it can be recognised.

You do not have your C1 test result yet? To apply, you need a B2 or C1 language certificate and a confirmation of enrolment for one of the recognised tests listed above. The successful test result must then be submitted by 28.02. (application for the summer semester) or by 31.08. (application for the winter semester).

Pre-Study Internship (for degree courses in nursing: vocational training)
Applicants for the BA degree programmes "Social Work", "Religious Education and Diaconia", "Early Education" and "Inclusive Education" must have completed a pre-study internship in a practical area relevant to their studies (duration: 3 months full-time).

Applicants with at least one child do not have to complete a pre-study internship. However, when applying, they must prove that they are bringing up the child in their household. See Application with foreign certificates (pdf)

Applicants for the BA degree programmes "Nursing Science", “Nursing Education” and "Health and Care Management" do not have to do an internship. However, they must have completed vocational training in the health and nursing sector:

  • BA Nursing Science: Completed vocational training in the nursing field, e.g. as a general nurse, paediatric nurse, curative education nurse or midwife, geriatric nurse, nursing assistant, surgical assistant, anaesthesia assistant
  • BA Nursing Education: Completed vocational training, e.g. as a general nurse, paediatric nurse, geriatric nurse, nurse specialist, surgical assistant, anaesthesia technical assistant
  • BA Health and Care Management: Completed vocational training of at least two years relevant to the professional field of nursing and health (this does not have to be nursing training); experience in management activities is an advantage.
