Welcome at EvH Bochum

EvH Bochum is the largest protestant institution of higher education in Germany.

Our university is located in the heart of the Ruhr Area, in Bochum – in a vibrant academic city with excellent public transport connections. Currently, about 2,700 students are enrolled in degree programs focused on social work, education, health and diaconia.

At EvH Bochum, we believe in learning that is both meaningful and enjoyable. Our programmes empower students to take an active role in shaping a more inclusive society. They are practice-oriented and diverse. Students value the close connection with our dedicated teaching staff and the strong sense of community on campus. That is what makes EvH Bochum special.
We are: social – committed – inclusive.

The International Semester Programme (ISP) at EvH Bochum offers an interdisciplinary semester‑long programme taught entirely in English, covering subjects such as diversity, disability, intercultural and international social work, as well as artistic approaches to social issues.
