Welcome at the EvH Bochum

The EvH Bochum is the largest protestant institution of higher education in Germany.

Our university is located in the heart of the Ruhr Area, in Bochum – in a vibrant academic city with excellent public transport connections. Currently, about 2,700 students are enrolled in degree programs focused on social work, education, health and diaconia.

At EvH Bochum, we believe in learning that is both meaningful and enjoyable. Our programs empower students to take an active role in shaping a more inclusive society. Our programs are practice-oriented and diverse. Students value the close connection with our dedicated teaching staff and the strong sense of community on campus. That is what makes EvH special.
We are: social – committed – inclusive.

The International Semester Programme (ISP) at the EvH offers an interdisciplinary semester‑long study programme taught entirely in English. The programme covers themes such as diversity, disability, intercultural and international social work, media and arts education.
